Nature writer, Elizabeth Hunter, forwarded this observation from the hawk watch team at at Harvey's Knob hawk watch on the Blue Ridge parkway:

Hundreds of monarchs & dragonflies migrating today. Biggest group of Monarchs I have observed this year. Seemed every time I put my binocs up to scan I was seeing 3-5 Monarchs streaming through. Same with dragonflies.
