Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/24/2011

Number: 300

I just want to report the largest sighting of Monarchs I have ever seen. We were riding our horses through Arcadia Park in Edmond when we came upon a large area of yellow flowering weeds - as we rode (walking) through the weeds hundreds of monarchs exploded up from the plants. Throughout the remainder of our ride (approx. 2 hours) we encountered monarchs everywhere in the park near the lake - in the wooded areas, in the open areas and mostly on the flowering weeds and grasses. Truly an amazing day!
