While on a 20 minute bike ride I counted only 3 monarchs today compared to about 20 yesterday. All were nectaring in a field of red clover. Although it was warm (70+) and sunny today, I didn't take my ride until about 1/2 hour before sundown so temperatures had fallen to around 65--and dropped quickly as soon as the sun fell below the horizon. (My point: probably not fair comparison to yesterday's observations around 3 pm.)
