Saw six Monarchs, at least one of which had just emerged today. Two were spotted flying across the road north of here; the other four were on our back hill where we still have blooming goldenrod. I suspect there are a still more near emergence, but their time to succeed is short and slim. Today was a quiet, sunny 70+ degrees. Colder weather is coming, probably with northern winds. Last chance to catch the train.........maybe there'll be rain and nectar in Texas by the time these get there.
