Hummingbird Sighting (Adult Male)

Date: 09/29/2011

Number: 2

Even with morning temperatures of 49º in SW Indiana there are two male hummingbirds at our feeders. They spend most of the day at the feeders, eating continually. Although they are very combative with each other while in the air they will be on a feeder at the same time. They use the roosts on the feeder while eating, they do not hover which looks like they are resting and saving their energy for their upcoming travels.
