Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/30/2011

Number: 12

I can't believe it!! I took off from work today and was out on a walk on our road when I saw more than 12 monarch butterflies all flying about an empty lot of goldenrod. This lot is rather small and nestled between trees, so even though it's rather windy today, it seems the trees are nice wind buffers for these beauties. I said a prayer for all of them for their migration to Mexico.

About two weeks ago I also saw 2 monarch butterflies flying in our suburb area near the Wyoming Valley Mall in Wilkes-Barre-- that made my day!

Seems that even though the amounts of monarchs are not as plentiful-- there are more than you may realize still heading Southward and pockets of surprise wildflowers for these butterflies to gain some energy on their flight ahead. Pray for them.
