Monarch Butterflies- 800 to 1000 per hour

The Toronto Ornithological Club held a waterfront outing along the Lake Ontario shoreline east of Toronto in Durham Region (where Cranberry Marsh is located) on Sunday. Birder Geoff Carpentier reports:



hundreds of monarchs today - few flying - most sitting on goldenrod and NE Aster.
