75 or more three weeks ago, and today...4! And I watched 3 of them leave! Happened to look out and saw 3 flying south over the field. Halfway out, they turned and came back to the feeders and then left for good. And it was 4:30-5:00! So late in the day. Wonder if that is typical? The low last night was 40'. Suppose they fly when it's cooler (to stay warm?) and then stop to eat/rest during the day? It's a mystery. This evening, only one was remaining. Maybe some more travellers tomorrow.
