I have once again seen Hummers on the Turks Cap Hibiscus (Malvaviscus arboreus var. drummondii)in our side yard. There are 2 and from what I can tell they may be female Ruby Throated Hummers. There are white tips on the end of the tail feathers. My daughter and I stood for a few minutes watching one suck the nectar from this twisted red flower and both of us said, "Wow! Now that's what I call adaptation!" The other female would return and they would quarrel with each other and fly away. I saw another Hummer on the same species of bush about a mile from my bush.
