Thursday, 9/29/11, the winds changed to the north in the afternoon. The thirty of so Monarchs that had been staying in my yard and roosting at night all left. Friday, only spotted two Monarchs in the yard. Saturday, there were four. The big group has moved on. Warm weather is forecast for this coming week, and winds will again be from the south. It will be interesting to see if numbers again build up again or not. It seems early for all the activity to be over.
