Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/02/2011

Number: 1

WOW, still had my female hummingbird this morning, sitting all puffed-up from the damp and the cold on her favorite perch in the Japanese holly! "Jewel" has now been here just about an entire month, which, for me, is a record for a migrant hummer. I will be quite surprised if I see her after today, as the jewelweed she loves is on the wane, and the chilly weather continues, both of which I'd think would spur her on to continue south. We shall see! Have loved having her:-)
