On a long walk in a large local park with many wild flowers and a variety of habitat, I saw only three monarchs. All seemed weak, fluttering only a short distance before clinging to grasses or leaves. It was a sunny day in the 70's with a medium south breeze. Conditions have been dry with little or no rain for several weeks.
