Sept. 28: Suddenly the air was full of hummers. The trees were alive. We had a day of soft rain and they fed and fed. The next day a cold front came in and almost all were gone. Still have a few-10 or 12. I noticed a male guarding one feeder today. I've been bringing the feeders in at night so the nectar will be warm the next morning. Usually see my last one around Oct. 15 so I keep my feeders out past that date for stragglers.
