Spotted two Monarchs traveling south, into a strong southeasterly wind. One was crossing a lake near here, the other a road in Willow River State Park near Hudson, WI. Also saw a Monarch in the garden, but I suspect that was the one that emerged the day before. Temps in the 80s continue, 20 degrees higher than normal. Winds are strong from the south. Goldenrod are almost completely gone as a nectar source. Best bets for late migrants are probably alfalfa fields with a bloom.
