Today I found a freshly hatched female monarch in my yard. Thank goodness mild night and weather are forecasted for the next few days. She hung all day but didn't fly yet. It was just over 20 degrees today and a mild night is forecasted. This is very late for a hatching way up here in N. Western Ont. Unfortunately I also found one a few days ago. It was in pieces...looked like a bird got it.
