We've had hummingbirds still come through our yard this week. I guess they are juveniles or females because they have no male markings and are small. Earlier on 10/3/11 2 were fighting for the feeders. It was cold and rainy. The bigger of the 2 birds kept vigil over the 2 feeders even in the pouring rain as it began to get dark. I was worried that he wouldn't make it through the night as temperatures got into the forties. I didn't see him the next day but the smaller bird has been feeding since then. This is the latest in October that I've seen hummingbirds in my yard.
