It was a beautiful, warm day (20 C) with little wind. There were much smaller numbers than last week, but we were surprised to see as many Monarchs as we did and, while it took close to three hours, we netted and tagged 54. Once tagged and released the Monarchs flew high and away from the lake (most headed W or NW).
