Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/11/2011

Number: 150

We spent a birding weekend in Cape Charles, VA (10/7 - 10/9). Saw at least 150 monarch butterflies in the WLR and flying all over the small town. They were strong and their color was deep and vibrant. They were gathering nectar wherever there were flowers, especially the goldenrod.
