Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 10/06/2011

Number: 1

During the days of Oct 6,7,8 monarchs were holding up in a few trees on the north side of town in Kermit, Texas. I don't remember seeing so many butterflies here before. I was wondering if they usually come this far west to fly to Mexico. I only had my cell phone to try to take pictures and they were very hard to see. It was a wonderful site to watch them. I was also noticing that when one flew up to the rest of them they all opened their wings like a "greeting". I don't know if this is any news for you but I thought it was different for
us.
