I hadn't seen any more hummers for a few days after seeing one on October 6 and so, the morning of October 11, I was ready to take in the feeder for the winter. Just as I was about to step out on the deck to do so, a lone female buzzed by me to the feeder. She took a long drink, went away, and came back one more time. I haven't seen any more since, so I think she may indeed have been the last. But I've learned my lesson and I'll wait a couple more days, just in case.
