Sightings report image

Date: 10/16/2011

Number: 1

Was out in the yard behind my house this morning before church and noticed a Monarch feeding on the wildflowers (don't know what the flowers are, but very common here this time of year). I went over, and took a few pics with my phone. Was a male, with a slight crack in its left rear wing, and some slight abrasions on that side as well, on the underside of the left fore wing. He went from flower to flower for several minutes there. I left while he was still feeding.

After just finishing the last report, I looked out my bedroom window into the back yard, and spotted another Monarch zipping along southward on a good tailwind. 1:40pm. 70's, blue skies.
