A chrysalis outside on a daylilly leaf was clearly about to emerge Thurs. evening, just as impending severe weather was moments away. I took the leaf it was hanging on, put them in a critter carrier and brought indoors. Within the hour, the storm was very fierce, and the Monarch had emerged! My husband let placed her on our lavender at lunch time Friday, and withing a couple of hours she was on her way! She would surely have been killed by the pounding rain and wind had I not brought her in!
