Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/16/2011

Number: 10

I thought the monarchs would never come!! Starting this Saturday 10/15/11monarchs have been drifting and nectaring on butterfly bushes on Lake Greenwood, South Carolina. They seem to take a 5 second drink and then they are on their way southwest. They fly until they reach the thermals. Much wind so they will get a free ride for awhile. Temps. a beautiful 78 degrees, with blue skies.

Greenwood, Lake Greenwood, SC
