Number: 30

At the Panhandle Butterfly House park, Navarre, FL. Closed for the season, but still lots of butterfly plants around the building. probably 30+ mostly monarch butterflies fluttering around, feeding. there were a few pale yellow butterflies, and smaller grey/black with one larger upper wing, and one smaller lower wing butterflies. There were also a group of about 10+ monarch butterflies on a tall bush with red flowers, that were not fluttering like the others. they stayed on or very close to the bush. seemed to group very close togerther. several in a group. I was there over an hour. this group did not leave the area of that bush. Also saw one hummingbird. ALso, on the way from Fort Walton Beach, FL to Pensacola, FL (approx 50 miles) probably saw another 30+ scattered along the highway, feeding on the wildflowers in the median and along the roadway. ** Of special interest in Navarre, FL. the Monarch butterflies all had circular tags on their left wings, with similar lettering. "1-888-TAGGING" The one that I could read with my camera, was numbered "PBS-328". Because this group of 30 or so, have similar tags, I am guessing they all were released from the same place, and stayed together during the migration. How sweet! : ) Won't the kids love that?! Butterflies. I love them! : )xoxoxo
