Wow! Counted over 15 monarchs on the drive from Canton, GA to Athens, GA. Even more amazing was able to observe well over 100 monarchs at the State Botanical Gardens in Athens. They were nectaring on lantana and butterfly bushes.

They were absolutely monarchs. I am part of the Monarchs Across Georgia Steering committee (www.monarchsacrossga.org) and we were in fact, able to tag 15 of them and test for OE too. I seem to see Gulf Fritallaries along the coast of Georgia as they migrate to Florida.
