Bob & I were invited to have a monarch information table at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum near Tucson for their Festival of Flight this weekend. Just as we were setting up, a monarch flew right in front of us and landed on Desert Ageratum to nectar amid about 15 queen butterflies. I later learned this was the first monarch sighting of the season. Sunday morning we were amazed to have seven monarchs arrive to nectar all within a 20 minute period - to the delight of everyone who stopped by to hear about monarchs. They nectared on Desert Ageratum, Baja Fairyduster and nearby salvias. The migration has reached Tucson!
