Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/15/2011

Number: 1

I drove to Dallas, Texas from my home in north Houston on Saturday, returning on Sunday. About an hour north of Houston I started to notice Monarch's crossing in front of me and this continued all the way to Dallas (5 hour trip) and on the return trip the next day it was the same thing. It was hard to tell what the density was as I was driving and could only see those that crossed in front of me. What I did notice, was that they appeared to be heading south west as opposed to straight south but not sure if that was my perception or a fact. I do that drive regularly and have not seen that many previously so is defintely a southerly migration.
