Visited Davis Mountains last weekend (10/15-16). Grasses and flowers were growing and healthy in the burned areas. Some of the bigger trees were burned and probably will not return.

 
Not many butterflies except for Monarchs. Lots of them in Ft. Davis, at the Prude Ranch - where I stayed, and at Balmorhea SP. Didn't see many flying but they sure were roosting in the trees.
