Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/14/2011

Number: 1

I saw 7 Monarchs in about 30 minutes and netted and tagged 5 of them. They were nectaring on clover along the paths in the Lynde Conservation Area, since all the goldenrod and most of the asters are done. A lot of the goldenrod has gone to seed.
I also noted that those adults which I tagged had very thin abdomens compared to those we were tagging a week ago.
