weather today was sunny & very strong NW winds 15 to 25 mph gusts.A cool front passed through & it only got up in the 60's today.
I was out in my garden around 2pm, the monarchs were coming through the woods & from the back of our pasture, which still has some goldenrod blooming. We have 5 acres, behind us is farmland & we're surrounded by woods & live on a lake.
Most monarchs just keep going but around 10 or so stayed until the evening nectaring heavy. They really were going for the zinnias, tropical milkweed is still blooming as well.
I've never seen so many monarchs in such a short time, really amazing experience. I was only able to get a shot of a couple on my zinnias.
