Before Monday monarchs were the local just hatched 5th Generation monarchs and scattered out among the trees. My net scooped up 24 in a single cluster and I missed others from that same group. Only saw about 45 all told. These were above a lateral canal in dense trees beside the Cunningham Ranch. I had to stand in the back of the jeep with a long-handled net. I'd estimate they were about 14' off the ground.
