Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 10/20/2011

Number: 25

after 3pm, my garden gets shaded & most of the monarchs I thought took off today.. to my delight there were 25 monarchs feasting on these yellow flowers by our waterfront. they weren't very organized.. meaning they didn't go up to one single tree to roost.. some went to the top of our hickory tree (very big tree) some to the red oak & others to a sweet gum.
this is a small roost compared to most reported, another first for me to witness.
