Enjoyed watching a beautiful, strong Monarch flying around the property; observed it intermittently for over 2 hours. Mid-afternoon, sunny, temp. mid-60s. Most of our garden flowers are wilted due to recent frost, but, thankfully, a large patch of clover still had many pink flowers remaining and the Monarch spent a lot of time nectaring at them. It also visited several dandelions in the yard (photo attached). So happy to share one of the many benefits of letting plants/lawn grow naturally - there are at least some small flowers to feed the Monarchs on their way South :) Also have several nectar feeders up, but haven't seen butterflies at them so far.
