While hiking on the Bruce Trail in stormy, rainy weather, Willy (my husband) observed a monarch resting on a mossy rock. He knew it could not fly in the cold, stormy weather so he brought it home in a lens case for me. I fed it nectar and took it to my classroom the next day, where we tagged her. We released her Saturday morning in sunshine, after several feedings. We have not seen monarchs here this late in the past. The children named her Storm.
