Pulling leaves out of the cold, cold swimming pool, I spotted a perfect little Monarch butterfly laying flat on the water. I thought it must be dead, but I didn't want to damage its wings so I very carefully lifted it out of the water with my finger, and it closed its wings. I was so surprised to see that it was still alive!
Can it still migrate? I think it may be too late for this one, with freezing temps coming this week to this area, starting tonight. I put it on a plant indoors. Can it survive?
