Tulips were featured in our first S.T.E.M. Academy for preschoolers here at the Albany Heritage Area Vistors Center. Children from the Early Learning Center planted a Journey North Tulip Garden after exploring indoor tulip stations. Stations included scales for weighing, hand lenses to see inside bulbs, drawing tulips, comparing other types of bulbs. What a great early start for the scientists & engineers of the future. Each child also has a tulip to plant at home and a new song to sing about tulips thanks to the creativity of my two retired teachers Felica Bordick and Lynee Shatsoff. Families will hoepfully go to the Journey North website to learn more!
