Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 10/23/2011

Number: 1

Just when I thought all the Monarchs had passed through, Sunday's sun and warmth brought 2 males to my white flowering butterfly bushes. They showed up about 10am when the sun hit the bushes, and stayed until 3pm when the sun went behind a hill of trees. Nectaring all the while. One male had much darker veins on his lower wing, left side. The other male had a half inch hole in the upper corner of its right wing. Altho we have seen Monarchs passing through here as late as November 23, I hope, for their sake, that these are the last stragglers flying south.
