SIGH...this is always a bittersweet time of year for me. Believe the monarch I saw this afternoon to be the last one I will see in this area for 2012. She was flying about twenty feet over my head, coursing back-and-forth in drizzly conditions at the Wardman Park Marriott, which is surrounded by a lovely garden. She had more interest in finding a dry roost than in visiting the still-intact marigold beds, and the former's where I was finally able to try a photograph of her, after she came to rest on a Kwanzaa cherry bough.
