Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 10/23/2011

Number: 100

Over Friday, Saturday and Sunday I spotted about 100 monarchs. The three days were sunny, low 60's in the daytime and 40's at night with a light westerly wind. The monarchs seem to be roosting much earlier in the day(4-5pm) compared to their predecessors who migrated through a few weeks earlier. They also appear to be flying more over the water now, then the earlier migrators who flew over the land.
