Throughout the day I observed at least 10 Monarch butterflies nectaring on the few remaining blooms on my butterfly bush. There was usually just a single butterfly feeding, but there were times when 2 or 3 were seen feeding at the same time. When they had had their fill all butterflies flew off in a southerly direction. Weather conditions at the time were as follows: Sunny and breezy with temperatures in the high 70s.
