Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 10/28/2011

Number: 1000

The Matagorda Bay Natural Science Center has been witnessing the migration for over a week, but yesterday evening (10/28) the monarchs roosted between the dunes and behind the center in attempt to not be blown into the Gulf of Mexico. Strong North winds have the insects hanging on for dear life as many are blowing off shore. We have awesome video again this year but unable to upload. Please see picture attached.
Thank you,
Rhonda
