Tulips PLANTED

Date: 10/24/2011

Number: 1

We are very excited to be participating in Journey North’s international tulip study for the first time! All eight first grade classes planted a total of 80 red emperor tulips! Students carefully choose the location of our tulip garden by following the official tulip garden checklist. We ended up planting in a corner of our school garden which includes raised vegetable beds and butterfly bushes. This location will get sun most of the day. We then made observations of our tulip bulbs and planted! We made sure to follow the official planting rules and planted 7 inches deep and 4 inches apart. We are looking forward to watching our tulips sprout and bloom in the spring!
