Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/31/2011

Number: 2

Have still been seeing one or two visit small feeders. Joy mentioned she saw a full blown male Rufous last Thursday. This morning about 7:20, before sunrise, I saw a hummer sitting for a very long time at the south feeder. I finally got a flashlight and binoculars and discovered what looked like a juvenile female Broad-tailed. Shortly, a female Rufous hovered around a bit then flew off. In '09, we had a Rufous stay the winter.
