Today walking along the Gulf coast we saw at least 8 monarch butterflies, including up at the top of the 12 story condo unit where we are staying. I know they are traveling south but at least 4 of them we saw coming into the beach from the gulf, which I can only surmise were either testing the waters as it were or aborted attempts?
