Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 11/02/2011

Number: 1

It is near the end of the migration time for the monarchs but there are still about 6-12 hanging around the blue mist and milkweed. One assumes they are getting filled up to complete their journey. No more roosting in the Oak tree, but a wonderful surprise in the yucca. I found a chrysalis! I've been watching it for 7 days and now you can see the patterns of the wings through the chrysalis. Don't know if it means anything or not, but it's in the same place as there was one last year. It's much warmer now than then, so I am hoping this one will imerge just as last year's did.
