Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 11/02/2011

Number: 1

Unbelievably, saw yet ANOHTHER monarch migrating through National Zoo this afternoon! He was flying very high, 20 to 30 feet over my head, going back-and-forth, the late afternoon sunshine lighting up his wings like a miniature piece of stained glass art. Extraordinarily, this intrepid creature survived the nor'easter we had last weekend, making it down through freezing nighttime temps and SNOW. I honestly don't know how they do it, AMAZING!
