The Lincoln School 4th grade students in Lincoln, MA plated 68 tulip bulbs from Oct. 17-28 (some just before our big snowstorm on 10/29. We also planted 2 bulbs sideways and 2 bulbs upside down just for fun to watch). Weather conditions during planting days ranged from sunny and warm to rainy and cold. The soil temperature was between 60-62 degrees. Our predictions for when the tulips will bloom were: 4 students predicted blooms in early April, 41 students predicted blooms in mid-April, 14 students predicted blooms in late April/early May and 3 students predicted blooms in May and 6 students were undecided.
