On a cool sunny morning, 94 second graders planted their tulip bulbs. It was 54 degrees outside with a slight breeze from the South. The weather was perfect for planting! After surveying the school campus we selected a location. The ground had been previously broken up so the students were able to easily dig into the dirt to plant the tulips. Once everything was completed we covered the area with mulch and chicken wire. The mulch to keep our tulips toasty over the winter and the chicken wire to defend against the squirrels!
