Signs of Fall

Date: 11/11/2011

Number: 1

We see snow geese and sand hill cranes flying overhead and settling into the local wild life sanctuary. The cranes stay here all winter but many of the geese fly on to Mexico from Siberia. The flowers are still sort of blooming--the zinnias, etc. but not very enthusiastically. I have a lot of tomatoes still on the vines but they are green and staying that way! Farmers tell me I need to bring them in to ripen before the frost hits them. Our two cats spend even more time sitting in the sun in the house instead of outside. It is dark so soon now.
