An immature female Rufous Hummingbird has been feeding at a feeder in Southgate, MI. The bird was safely captured, examined and banded by Allen Chartier of Inkster, Michigan. He identified the bird. I went to the location today to add the bird to my life list. I learned of the bird through a local birding list serve called UMichBirders and a rare bird alert through eBird & Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
